Oh the travail!
Well, there are a few of you who are inquiring about the update about my wrist. So, I thought I would just put it in the blog for you read about, and if you have any other questions feel free to send them my way. Couple weeks ago I had a ligament repair done
to my wrist which ended up being far more involved than I ever expected. I finally had it explained to me yesterday. They basically used another ligament from a part my arm which apparently we don’t use very much, and threaded through a small eyelet which was attached to the bone to hold everything together in my wrist. Doesn’t that sound appealing? So what you see pictured here is my next iteration of the cast. I still have a fair amount of swelling going on, and they indicated that I will be back for another cast after all the is swelling reduced. So, basically I went with the color black in order to “match” all of my designer clothes!
That was a gentle poke at all my students who love to critique my selection of clothes that I wear to class. Seems like I have an ongoing commentary about whether I’m “matching” or not my reaction is, “WHATEVER”! But that was just a brief sidebar comment! Getting back to getting the cast on–it was far more painful than I ever expected it to be. I have a set of 2 pins that are placed in my wrist in order to stabilize the it. When they decided to clean around them it felt like somebody had hitched up a car battery to the 2 pins turned it on. So, with Calvin, I proclaim “I am sure glad that’s over!” That’s all for now… thanks for praying.

Not my fault you have limited fashion sense, boss. I merely comment.
Looks like a mini-mummy! However, I am glad you are on the good side of being able to use your left hand. Brilliant people are left-handed!
Continued prayers for healing, brother!

Hmm. And here I thought if you want everything to match, go with white… but I guess that’s not so chic, huh? Found a really good song about this being a good hair color as well… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjW_lN_Wz1Q&feature=related
Ray, this whole wrist thing sounds like it just plain sucks… Sorry to hear this. May God strengthen you and yours for the journey, and our prayers, as always, are loud and steadfast for you dear friend.
